Senior field solar technician

Job description

We're seeking a knowledgeable and field-ready Senior Field Solar Technician to join our mission of transforming energy through reliable, high-impact installations. You'll work closely with homeowners, businesses, and internal teams to install systems, troubleshoot performance issues, and promote best practices in solar and storage. This role is at the heart of what we do — supporting the people who power their homes with the sun, ensuring system quality, and driving results that matter.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct regular site visits to assess system performance, panel condition, wiring, and output

• Develop tailored recommendations for panel placement, inverter sizing, and battery integration

• Guide customers in adopting monitoring tools and energy-saving practices

• Support installation trials and demonstrations of new products, panels, and technologies

• Monitor and record system data to track outcomes and inform best practices

• Deliver training sessions to educate junior installers and customers

• Collaborate with engineering, tech, and sustainability teams to align strategies and share insights

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 2+ years of hands-on solar installation or field service experience

• Strong knowledge of solar systems, battery storage, and/or grid-tied installations

• Ability to assess and respond to real-time field conditions

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers and team members alike

• Familiarity with monitoring platforms and system diagnostic tools is a plus

• Willingness to travel regularly within your assigned region
